Default I must Say, Paragon so far funnest class

Hey first off, Let me say I have finnally started enjoying playing this game.

My history with this game started when Prophecies first came out. I had a Elementalist/Monk, and a Warrior/monk, and I got to lvl 20 with both of those characters, and when I did I had no urge to play anymore.

I have not played Guild Wars for two years since, but I finnally picked up nightfall because of the idea behind the Dervish, and the look of the Paragon.

I been playing nightfall for 20 days now. I originnally created a Dervish/monk, and right now that character is level 20 and I am close to finishing all the story missions so I could get a gist of the story. The thing is The Derv to me was more exciting then my last two classes, but overall I find the Derv powerful, but kind of boring to play.

So three days ago I started a Paragon, and man I am so happy I did. This will become my primary character when I finish all the missions with my Derv. I just love everything that the Derv offers. Traditionally I love playing ranger type classes where I attack from distance, but I always wanted to be able to off more party support than Pulling mobs, and setting traps. With the Paragon Shouts, the High AL for a ranged toon, and the power you get behind the use of the spear, I have never had so much fun playing a character before. Plus the storyline for Nightfall to me so much more engrossing than the one for proph.

Does anyone else feel the Paragon is the funnest class to play

I play a Paragon and I really like it. The only problems I have with it is that the gameplay is pretty linear, and unchanging.

Cast your shouts, do some spear attacks, cast your shouts whenever you can, you attack skill whenever you can.

Of course it's not all like that with different builds, but that's my experience. I really, really like the Leadership spec though, getting +5 energy on every shout prevents you from ever having to wait for energy recharge.

I like Paragon because you can play it in a vegetative state, and still be by far the most valuable player on the team.

yea i love the concept of both the dervish and paragon, but both seem to get very repetitive. with a dervish, you cast and recast and cast your enchantments on you, spamming attack skills. with the paragon, you just do the same thing, but with shouts replacing your enchantments. i only find enjoyment playing paragons in PvP, and i havent found much enjoyment in pve overall to be honest. just farming around with buddies and stuff.. but anyways thats off topic. so my answer is yes: i do enjoy them, only in PvP. (sorry bout the lecture lol.)

I have yet to play my Paragon in PVP but I can see the potential in the class for PVP looks to be really exciting. I have only played my Paragon in PvE and I enjoy it a lot. Granted I am only level 12 and haven't gone through many of the story missions yet, but so far I am having a blast with them. I never really had a blast with my Derv in PVE, and now since I am getting up to the tougher story missions with very little in terms of good equipment, I find the Derv to be sort of a grind. I am not a great tank player, I rather attack from distance and watch the field for what is going on.

The funniest ranger class is Ranger no way for it.
Interrupting, spam condition, spliter barrage etc.
Paragon is more solid than a ranger.
After i finish everything with my ranger (alla campaign, dungeon, doa, fo, uw and more arenas pvp). I started a paragon and i run with Sy and Tntf. It's very hard to die (never die i'm going to max surivivor title) but a bit annoyin.

My two favorite character classes are the Dervish and Paragon. I do agree with what Terraban said that a good Paragon can be the most valuable player on a team. A Paragon with Save Yourselves! and There's nothing to fear! Can reduce the damage taken by all party members to almost nothing.

Paragons are fun, but like dervs their skillset is pretty limited (1 campaign, 1 expansion). Unlike dervs though most of their elites (and alot of the other skills) are complete sh*t in PvE, which doesn't allow for much creativity when it comes to making non 'cookie cutter' builds. On top of that there is little reason not to run the overpowered WARRIOR PvE skill "Save Yourselves" which dictates the use of Focussed Anger as your elite and no other adrenal skills, and you end up with very little variation in paragon bars. I would really love for them to nerf SY so its only usefull on a warrior, not only to shut up the paragon bashers but also to promote a bit more variation in PvE bars.

When I bought into Guild Wars I bought all three versions within a week or so. I had the intent to start off in Prophecies and work my way through all three.

So I started out in with a warrior in Prophecies. I figured it'd be easiest to get the hang of the game with a pretty strait forward class. I eventually got bored of it.

I switched to an Elementalist and it was alot more fun. Although I really liked the Elementalist upon making it to Lions Arch the game became so hard I lost interest in it. Prophecies PvE seems to mob you bad, and for an Elementalist with a bunch of henchmen it was tough going. It seemed like I spent half my battles sending my whole party in by themselves and standing back so I can reincarnate them once they die and break agro just to repeat the process all over again.

I switched to Nightfall where I started out with a Paragon, mostly because it was new and I liked the way it looked. Played that for awhile but eventually got bored of it. Probably because I was trying to use it like a strait up warrior, but the class isn't meant to work that way.

Then I did the Dervish thing. I almost didn't because at the beginning of Nightfall it seems like everyone is a Dervish.... but I'm glad I did. It wound up being more fun than a strait up Warrior since you had to think a little bit harder about how you conducted battle, and the scythe damage was nice too. Beat the game with that one.

I briefly did a warrior again in Nightfall. Made it to level 20... deleted it due to boredom with it again.

Now I'm doing a Paragon again. Now that I understand the mechanics of a group a bit better it's actually more fun. Hero's totally change the dynamic of play, and if I had had them with my first Elementalist I probably wouldn't have had the problems I did.

Anyway.... Paragons are great, once you realize how to play them.

Like you I played with an Elementalist first in Prophecies and I loved it, but then after Lions Arch the class got way to hard playing solo with henchies, and I am sorry but at the time I was not in a really cool guild, so I hated partying with other people.

two years later I go to Nightfall and I played with a Dervish and a Paragon and I must say I liked both more than my elementalist, and now I have both my Paragon and Derv up to level 20 and my paragon is now my primary. I love the Paragon especially in a party aspect, and now I switched my secondary to warrior, and the class is just a killer.

Not to mention if you wanted to, you can go Axe/sword mast + Command + Leadership and do exactly what a Warrior can do, only with energy management instead of armor penetration. Even then, People really underestimate the raw power that a spear can pull off when going fully offensive.

I had created paragons in the past, but again got bored due to the fact that I was going all out spear attacks. When the typical SY/TNTF build came out, I thought hey, why not. Paragon soon became my favorite class. Hell, they can support melee and caster alike, heal if they want to, or go full offensive and excel at doing it ALL.

The thing that I love about paragons too is that a team is only more fun to play the more paragons you have. the Singers of Woe build is a prime example.
